Poultice Poultice

Poultice confronts the very English taboo of men not talking about their health.
A PowerPoint projection traces my wounds and health problems, beginning with 'the first wound - the unwanted child' and ending with 'catarrh'. Each wound was bandaged with a bread poultice. Some things should not be spoken about; the shamefulness of some images, especially mental health issues. The importance of not looking weak and maintaining a 'stiff upper lip': all conventions utterly contravened.
