Unbearable Lightness
(installation)
25 Grimwade Street, Ipswich
December 2000A room in an abandoned early 20th century domestic house. All light blocked out. This work plays on the relationship between technology and romanticism. An image of Tallulah Bankhead, one-time film star and a contemporary of this house, is cast onto a wall of redundant computers by an overhead projector which is placed on the floor, directly in front of a vast pubic triangle of cables that are as impotent as the computers themselves.
